Kathleen Peroutka Marver, ATR, CSW, LPC

Kathleen, who goes by Katy, has dedicated her career to working with individuals and families to improve their lives and relationships.

She offers a safe, non-judgmental environment to explore express emotions safely, nurture self-respect and self-care, and develop healthy coping and communication skills.

 

Katy comes highly skilled at facilitating cooperative resolutions and creative problem solving. She is respectful and empathetic to individual cultures and needs. She is respectful of your choices as she walks beside you on your healing journey.

Education and Experience

Katy is a nationally Registered Art Therapist, Certified Social Worker, and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin.

 

Experience

Since 1991, Katy has practiced in clinical and community settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, assisted living communities, adult day centers, clinics, elementary schools, and with NAMI; National Alliance for Mental Illness. 

Education

Katy has Masters and a Bachelors degrees in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (2006 and 1991 respectively). In 1995, she obtained a CSW, Certified Social Work license from the state of Wisconsin, while working as a psychiatric social worker/case manager at Beloit Community Support Program. In the spring of 2018, Katy obtained a LPC-IT and is receiving supervision toward her LPC/licensed professional counselor.

Additional

Katy currently presents art therapy classes and personal growth workshops at The Soul Source Restorative Community Center in West Bend, Wisconsin, where she also offers individual and community Reiki. She will travel to other sites for large groups and speaking engagements. 

Personal interests have led to developing skills in energy work and yoga, earning a certificate to teach yoga in 2013 and a Reiki Master/Teacher certificate for the second time in 2014.

Katy is an avid supporter and volunteer for The Center for Creative Learning in Milwaukee, and encourages you to join 'Taking it Lightly,' or 'Healing Warrior Hearts.'
